My first letter to my wife

I wrote you this letter that you may be educated with God’s love. May his spirit guide
you in his infinite wisdom as you read through this text.

In the beginning, God created man and woman. Of course, we (should) know the story.
God created Adam first. It was not good for man to be alone and hence, Eve was created.
Eve was created from Adam's rib. It is a sign that woman is to be by his side; and that
she is made for man. Bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh.

Woman is God's masterpiece. They are wired to be receptive of love. Although this
does not mean that they cannot give. Sure they can! But they were created with the
capacity to receive. In the book of Genesis, she is the last creature to be created.
In God's book, usually, the last is always the first. Women are special. They just
don’t know how special.

Within woman is the greatest characteristic; the ability to bear life. Within them
is a holy place, a tabernacle. Now, where have we seen a tabernacle? Inside the
church is a tabernacle. It holds the holiest of holies. It holds God himself in the
appearance of bread. In a similar analogy, we, too, are held within the womb of the
church during Mass. Remember that we identify the (Catholic) church as a feminine
person. The church is our mother and the bride of Christ. And within the womb, we
bear new life (as long as we partake of Christ).

A woman is given a womb to bear life. This is also why they cannot be fathers simply
because they just can't be. Women are mothers; that's their design. It does not mean
that they're dignity is lesser. It's people who look at their dignity less than it
is.

Men on the other hand, cannot bear life no matter what you do. They're just not
designed that way. Men are the way they are because they were built to give love.
Again, this does not mean that they can't receive. But they are primarily designed
to give love. They were designed to protect, lead and look ahead. This does not mean
that a woman cannot protect. No, but the manner a woman protects is different from
how a man does. Men more outward whereas women who are more inward.

However the original design was ruined. It was not completely destroyed but it was
twisted. It was twisted after Eve ate of the forbidden fruit. On the other hand,
Adam did not do his job. If you read the book of Genesis, he was assigned to keep
the garden. Adam failed to protect Eve from the serpent. Adam could have given his
life or asked God for help but instead he did nothing. And because of this, our
nature has fallen. Look at the world around you. There are a lot of suffering and
distortion. What we see as wrong is becoming what is good. This is just not in the
original plan of God. We see divorces in marriage. Men do not know how to be men
and women do not know how to be women. Perception has been distorted. We are driven
with the counterfeit and we've been duped to believe that it is the truth.

All is not lost however. God promised to fix things. He sent his only son, Jesus
Christ. Jesus did what the first Adam did not. He gave his life for us. He trusted
in God the father despite being God himself. He was the perfect example of what it
is to be a man. Now, on the other hand, the Blessed Virgin Mary is the perfect
example of what it is to be a woman. She, too, trusted in God when she gave her
fiat. Which is also why the church is modeled after her.

Man was saved because of a young woman’s ‘yes.’ So, women, you should be proud of
yourselves. The pain you endure is great but it is placed there for a reason. Love
is worth nothing if it does not cost. Jesus’ love for us cost him his life.
